What other monkey business are you up to? 1. Are you guys crazy or what? Yes...um...I mean No. 2. How many people have tried the ride? Over 1,000,000 satisfied customers served worldwide! We
have developed the ride with safety in mind. It
has been FUNTIMES
policy to construct ride systems for excitement in the past ten years on
the basis of the highest available safety standard. All
SLINGSHOT systems are built and constructed under strict European and
American safety standards and apply to CE Norms. All ride designs have
been inspected, controlled and tested by the TUV Germany, which is a
technical safety inspection institute of international acceptance and
reputation. Every part of the system has a safety coefficient of 1:1 and
an additional back up. The G-Force ranges between 4-6. With over 50 rides operating worldwide FUNTIME is focused on creating the ultimate environment with fun and safety in mind. The SLINGSHOT is a high excitement amusement ride. The ride capsule sits between two 40 metre high towers attached by 2 steel cables, (2 cables are for safety). The capsule is held on the ground by an electronic device while the springs pre-tension the cables. A central computerized unit operates all mechanisms of the ride. Once the pre-determined pressure has been reached the capsule is released and the springs fire the ball vertically. The ball will travel up to 70 meters (230ft). The ride takes 2 minutes altogether. The scale of the ride is so dramatic that the riders can experience up to 6G's (five times the force of gravity for a brief moment on take-off. The
thrill of height and the pure free fall feeling make the SLINGSHOT one of
the most exciting ride experiences existing in the world today. 5. How much does it cost to ride? The ride cost only $20 per person. 6. Are there any health or age restrictions? There
is no age limit, only size. You can ride if you are:
taller
than 1.1m (4ft)
aged
between 5yr-100yr+ (and they have)
You
cannot ride if you: Have
a heart condition
Have
high blood pressure
Are
pregnant
Have
epilepsy
If you have a bad back, previous injury or disability the physical effects
of the ride are minimal as you are securely harnessed in with comfortable padding to keep your movements to a minimum. Basically
if you can ride a roller coaster then you can ride the SlingShot. 7.
Can I buy a photo or video as a momento? Yes. Every
ride is recorded "live" onto DVD. It is played back to you and
your friends when you return to earth (the camera never lies and laughs
are guaranteed). DVD Video $15. A
photo is taken close up to capture the after shock of your launch. Photos $10 8.
How fast, how quick, how high, how many g's? On the Guam Slingshot you
will experience: Speed
100mph (160kph) Time
1sec Altitude
up to 70m (230ft) G
Force 6g 9.
How long does the ride last? The
ride takes 3 minutes from the time you step into the SlingShot capsule
until you step out. Of course you will spend 5 minutes in anticipation
while you decide and another
5 minutes
reliving your ride on DVD. ...about one week in withdrawals...one month in
adrenalin rehabilitation and several
flashbacks annually...so hopefully you'll get your moneys worth. A G' is Gravity force on your body. It is measured as the force required to move a 1 kilogram object one metre per second under normal gravity conditions. You will experience forces up to 6 Gs but only for a split second so there is no extreme force on your body. Astronauts are tested above this force of gravity for a much longer time during training. In the 1940's the US airforce tested pilots at about 10gs before they threw up, blacked out and passed out...and maybe not in that order...YUK!
11. How does the ride come down? We press the down button and you are lowered slowly to earth. 12. Does rain or wind affect the ride? The only time we will be closed is when winds reach over 100mph and you shouldn't be outside anyway. Leave your fashion accessories at home any other loose things like shoes, wallets, sunglasses and pets can be left on the ground just before launch. If you have to wear eyeglasses we may have a strap you can borrow but bring your own if you have one. If you wear a skirt you should be aware that a three-way harness needs to connect between your legs. A towel will be placed in your lap for your comfort. 14. Will I throw up on the SlingShot? The SlingShot will give you such a blast that you will be way too busy hanging on for your dear life to worry about anything else. The sensation is not stomach turning...just completely bizarre. 15. How many people can ride the slingshot? The SlingShot is designed with two seats for two people but a single person can ride. You will find double is more fun as you get to share that terrifying moment with the one you love...or hate? If you buy your ride for 2 people, 1 Video and 2 Tshirt you will save $20. 17. How can I breathe on the SlingShot? Through your nose and out your mouth...in between your screams...yells...yeehaas...and shocked silence... try not to breathe in the bugs. 18. Do I need to make a booking? No. The ride time is quick and you will not be waiting long sit back and enjoy the show...it is fun to watch. 19. Are there any side effects? No. Although some people may run away screaming each time you mention the SlingShot to them. 20. Will I need to bring a change of underwear? Probably not...but best to go before you come or just wear your brown jocks!!! 21. What other monkey business are you up to? Guam has a trampeze on site which is a cross between a trampoline and a trapeze which is fun to try and fun to watch. Cost $10. |
